The people behind ARGEOgraph

Maaike de Waal (PhD) studied 'Prehistory of Northwestern Europe' and 'Caribbean archaeology' at Leiden University (Netherlands). She directed several archaeological field projects in the Netherlands and the Caribbean and she worked as lecturer and researcher at the University of the West Indies (Barbados) and currently at Leiden University. Besides this, Maaike obtained ample experience in Dutch commercial archaeology by working as archaeological project director and as team manager (archaeological prospection) for RAAP Archaeological Consultancy. Maaike is registered in the Dutch Archaeology Actor Register as senior KNA archaeologist and senior KNA prospector (№ 85424021).

Jochem Lesparre (MSc) studied geodesy at Delft University of Technology (Netherlands). During his work at the Netherlands' Cadastre, Land Registry and Mapping Agency and at Delft University of Technology he has been involved in research and development in coordinate reference systems, GNSS, photogrammetry, remote sensing, laser scanning and GIS. Jochem obtained experience in Caribbean archaeology and surveying during fieldwork on Guadeloupe, St. Lucia and Barbados. He taught theoretical and practical courses in geo-information for archaeology students at the University of the West Indies (Barbados) and Saxion University of Applied Sciences in Deventer (Netherlands).
